CLA stands for Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA). CLA is a natural fatty acid that is part of our diet. It is not necessary, as we can produce it in small quantities in the liver. CLA is produced from LA (linoleic acid) with a change in its chemical structure, resulting in a unique fatty acid with clinically proven health benefits.
This natural source of CLA can reduce body fat while increasing lean muscle mass. CLA inhibits the activity of the enzyme lipoprotein lipase (LPL), one of the enzymes responsible for transporting fat to fat (fat storage cell). At the same time, CLA stimulates the elimination of accumulated body fat (lipolysis) by stimulating the enzyme carnitine palmitoyltransferase, which is responsible for transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria.
